Kanryo Sensei helped his father from the age of ten, and hard work made him very strong. Kanryo From childhood he showed great interest in the arts of combat and was eager to learn as much as possible. He was well known for being very flexible and quick on his feet, despite its small size.

At fourteen he began learning Kanryo Chinese Kenpo. Its well-developed and strong body allowed an early mastery of Chinese Kempo and quickly gained a reputation as a martial arts master in Naha. Dissatisfied with your skill level, Kanryo wanted to go to China to study Chinese martial arts and culture. Unfortunately, the financial circumstances of his family could not offer the freedom to travel.

By chance Higaonna Sensei's teacher introduced him to Udon Yoshimura, a point guard in the port of Naha. Udon Yoshimura who finally was sponsored trip to China to Sensei Higaonna. At the age of sixteen, Naha left toward the Chinese port of Fuzhou, where he remained in the settlement of Okinawa called Ryu Kyu-kan. It took almost a year to be presented to Sensei Higaonna local teacher in Foochow Chinese Kempo, Yuko el Maestro Ryu.

Even after seeing the Sensei Higaonna been submitted, was not immediately accepted as a disciple. Chinese teachers take the time to study the personality and character of candidates before accepting disciples.. Thereby, Higaonna Sensei was given the task of tending the garden and cleaning the teacher's room and made these tasks diligently and with enthusiasm over a long period of time. Impressed by his attitude, Master Ryu Ryuko Sensei Higaonna finally accepted as his personal disciple.

As a disciple, Higaonna Sensei assist his master in his trade as a bamboo craftsman by day and then by night train. Training began with the practice of Sanchin, and lifting heavy ceramic pots (nigiri-game) by its edges to strengthen the grips of the student during practice Unsoku-ho (step movement) to develop a firm foundation. He continued doing exercises using the Muchi-ishi (piedra natural) and makiwara (pole hit), and a Uki (bamboo basket), where two people practicing grappling and choking techniques. These new tools and training techniques to Sensei Higaonna fascinated increasing interest in karate further. The hard training took its toll, however, and legs, swollen hands and shoulders were always more effort. However, was this hard training which allowed him to develop muscles like steel forged. After several years of hard training, became skilful disciple of his teacher.

Throughout the city of Fuzhou, the fame of Higaonna Sensei in extended gradually as a great martial artist. An episode involving a discussion between two dojos students (a training) led to competition in order to show who was superior. In order to choose a superior martial artist and no one gets hurt, Each teacher chose his best student to perform the kata instead of fighting to freestyle. Higaonna Sensei was elected to represent his dojo. The students of the dojo were filled with wonder at Higaonna Sensei performing kata Sanchin. After, of another dojo master admitted that master the art of Ryu Ryuko was over and spread his fame further Sensei Higaonna. Many martial artists tried to engage in battle with him to prove his bravery, but Higaonna Sensei kept his promise to his teacher not to fight to prove their ability to refuse to these challenges.

Higaonna Sensei Foochow remained close disciple of thirteen, after which he returned to Okinawa. Higaonna Sensei visits the owner of the vessel, Udon Yoshimura, that had made the trip to China possible. Higaonna Sensei's fame spread rapidly throughout Naha, attracting the attention of the king of the Ryukyu Dynasty. So, for many years, taught martial arts to members of the royal family also. However, many people of the city came to Higaonna Sensei and asked to be admitted as a personal disciple. However, due to the hardness of the formation, only a few stayed with him for a long time. Among his disciples, a young man called Chojun Miyagi was one of the few left. Higaonna Sensei had opened his home in Nishimachi as a dojo and taught his art to his disciples without charging any fee. In addition to private instruction, Higaonna Sensei began to teach in a public high school in Naha, at the request of director 1905. He instilled in students both the physical and spiritual value of his martial art.

During his thirteen years in China, Sensei Higoanna dominated many traditional martial arts, eg, the art of straight sword. His technique in these different martial arts was truly art in motion. His hands and legs had extraordinary lightness to make your moves fast as lightning. The people were surprised to see someone so small, five feet and one inch, had so much power and strength, and referred to him as Kensei, namely, “sacred fists”. Little by little, Higaonna Sensei's art became known as Naha-te, “Naha”, in reference to the region of Naha in Okinawa and “to” hand technique. He dedicated his life, along with his disciple of Chojun Miyagi Sensei, to the improvement and promotion of the art of Naha-te. In early 1916, Higaonna Sensei fell ill and died in October 1916. Masanobu Shinjo

On de Okinawa, a master of Goju-Ryu called Masanobu Shinjo emerged and, Miyagi and before he, became known for his gentle nature and extraordinary strength. Shinjo formally began his karate studies in 1953 and 1963 opened his own dojo, the Shobukan. For the next several decades Shinjo held annual demonstrations as he watched his organization grow and tried to introduce his school not only to mainland Japan., but also in North and South, Africa, Europe and India. In 1982, Masanobu Shinjo was awarded ninth dan and the title of “Hanshi” por la Okinawa Goju-Ryu Goju-Kai, making it one of the highest-ranked karate masters in Okinawa Goju-Ryu.

Maestro Yagi, it was a 10 º Then the Goju-Ryu, described as the nearest teacher Master Miyagi, in the way it performs kata and techniques. More than any other Goju-Ryu practitioner. This similarity may be the result of Shinjo's search more than anyone else in Okinawa, I had trained with Miyagi in order to study their individual kata, because usually Miyagi Asked to their students to specialize in one kata, together with Sanchin. In this way, Shinjo was able to learn all aspects of Goju-Ryu Miyagi, as he had done previously in relation to the study of Naha-Te with Higaonna.

One of the main mentors was Meitoku Yagi Shinjo, it was the best student of Miyagi Sensei. Through this direct lineage, the teachings and integrity of Miyagi's art remained intact. In 1990, Yagi Shinjo sensei was appointed as Chairman of the Okinawa Goju-Ryu Goju-Kai, while an instructor head of the organization that he founded, la Okinawa Goju-Ryu Shobukan Asociación. Shinjo also became the President of the All Okinawa Karate-Do Association, the prestigious organization that encompasses all traditional styles of Okinawan Karate-Do.

The world of karate suffered a serious setback in October 1993 with the untimely passing of Master Shinjo after a year-long illness. Like Master Miyagui, Shinjo had dedicated his life promoting Goju – Ryu, so we made trips to China, to Temple of Shaolin, Taiwan, and his numerous Shobukan headquarters in the United States and other schools in the country.

From 1993 to 1998 It was a period of restructuring of the Shobukan So Honbu organization. Seiki Takushi fue nombrado SoHonbu Kancho y Juan Gate, the United States representative Shobukan was appointed to the position of International Representative. With the supervision of the Shobukan by Takushi and Porta Kanchos firmly adheres and Shobukan strictly adheres to the most demanding requirements of technique and conduct to what was established and matured under the direction of Shinjo Sensei..

Shobukan organization remains steadfast in its commitment to outreach and internationalization of traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do. Any questions concerning the Organization Shobukan should be directed to the International Shobukan, Okinawa Sede, Japan and Sensei John Porta (see photo of John Porta and Masanobu Shinjo).

The Reason for the creation of this association was precisely the death of Master Masanobu Shinjo, who was the founder of the association Shobukan, causing the disintegration of the school after a period of cohabitation that lasted some years. One is known as Soku Jyu.

a) Inhale and exhale long fast

b) Inhale exhale fast long

c) Inhale and exhale long long

d) Inhale and exhale quickly fast

Another way is known as Tai Soku

b) breathe and stop

Anyway the most important thing is to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. It is said that the body will develop the commitment and persistence in training.

  3. Learning patience. One must learn to get physical patience while training. Without the cultivation of patience and Mental , the spirit does not flow , not emerge without the. One can not evolve in Karate.

Interview

Black Belt: Cuando start learning Karate?

Kinei Nakasone: I started in karate to 15 age, when I was in high school.

C.N: From 15 years only has practiced Goju?

K.N.: At that time there was still schools where you could practice the Goju. No training centers existed as we know today as Dojo. My beginnings were with an old man 85 age, who was teaching me karate for a period of three months in the backyard, but with the style Shorin.

C.N: When was your first encounter with the Goju?

K.N.: He went to the 20 years old. As the professor lectured about Toji, I became his disciple.

C.N:We could mention the names of some of his fellow?

K.N.: At the time we were aquella Eichi Miyazato, Seko Higa, Meitoru Yaqui. They were disciples brothers. So there was not yet the Danish system and was simply an association. Eichi Miyazato was who first introduced the Danish system.

C.N: I come to receive instruction of Professor Seko Higa?

K.N: Not, Keiichi could only see when giving classes Miyake, the rest of the teachers not looked.

C.N: What could we have about professor Toquchi?

K.N: Professor Toguchi was not very big in stature, but very intelligent and, especially, instilled a great respect. Not surprisingly created many new techniques, basic practice diverse tactics.

C.N:Who practice in teacher Dojo Toguchi?

K.N: Con Masanodu Shinjo, Chojun Kyuna, and present here (notes to teachers who have joined us in the interview)… Hiroshi Kuniyoshi, Maekawa, etc. We can say that the disciples of Professor Toguchi were most have spread Goju.

C.N:Where the teacher had his Dojo Toguchi?

K.N.: Estaba en Nakanomachi.

C.N:The practices were conducted in the Dojo or also performed in other parts?

K.N.: Initially, Professor Toquchi taught in Onna, Nakano then and then on the main island of Japan. But usually in enseñaba Nakanomachi. I practiced 5 years and then, in the village of Kin, opened the first dojo as local headquarters.

C.N:All teacher Toguchi disciples have continued or changed to another style?

K.N.: Most have continued and style has not changed.

C.N:We could make some comments about Kata with music?

K.N: I do not think it's anything bad for karate, because music gives rhythm to life and, therefore, working with music that has its own value.

C.N:What is your favorite Kata?

K.N.: Seinchin. This Kata I like so much a part of my and my environment

C.N:What is the difference between karate and traditional karate contemporary?

K.N.: I think the traditional Katas not be changed and must continue practicing them as before. The former also has its good, so we must keep and not change the traditional Okinawan Karate.

When one takes 10, 20 or more years they begin to appreciate the subtle message that emerges from the bones and is felt in the heart.

C.N.: Last, What do you think about the association Seibu?

K.N: Not much time has passed since the association was founded Seibukai, but we strive to be a group that can be spread around the world.

Sincerely Kinei Nakasone en un movimiento de Carta con Sincerely Mimoun Boulahfa, 1997, Okinawa.

I met Master Kinei Nakasone during the 30 anniversary of the opening of the school founded by Master Shobukan Masanobu Shinjo. I sat resting my training session, in the dojo Kinei Shobukan when the teacher explained some techniques about the U.S. students who were in Okinawa to participate in the anniversary.

I was not presented to the teacher at that time ,nor was some years later after the death of Master Shinjo. As usual I went to the dojo of Master Shinjo morning train. Kinei Master was sitting in a crack in the door. This was the first time I went to work at the dojo of Master Shinjo after his death.

I greeted those who were there ,explained the quien era, Kinei but the teacher did not believe me and sent the daughter of Master Shinjo as home gym and are located on the same floor .

Separations with regulatory ; this , said he did not know me. Whatever the drawbacks led to timely and not talking , any known at that time . Girl's answer was surprising to me. As were many years that I trained there in the mornings and in summer, When she was on vacation too. My face and beard in Japan is not very usual , so do not give importance to this miss and went.

It took two years, to get us to meet and casually. Behind the hotel where I was staying. Directly behind karate was a gym recently opened ,when I looked in the evening in one of the classes, discovered the master Kuniyoshi with if he had worked in the past some morning. I went to greet. I explained my situation and told me the story of the separation of the organization and provided me the baton of Kinei, it was about 500 meters from where we were, while telling me. Nowadays, of Kancho of the Nueva organization es Kinei Nakasone Sensei.

Out with Kuniyoshi, call the teacher came in to tell me Kinei purpose of training in the system belong to the new organization. EI first day, I went to the dojo ,where everyone knew of my presence. EI teacher was not but this time if I had coworkers who had formerly practiced.
